Jada Pinkett Smith reveals Will Smith split, August Alsina on Red Table Talk
With Season 3, Episode 12 of Red Table Talk Jada Pinkett Smith brought herself to the table to talk about love, marriage, Will Smith split and August Alsina relationship.
American singer August Alsina said he had a relationship with the actress four years ago, with the “blessing” of Will Smith. In a recent interview with radio host Angela Yee, Alsina said he had been involved in a romantic relationship with Jada Pinkett Smith, who has been married to Smith since 1997. This thus opened the gate for those rumors to come rushing back to the forefront.

Jada Pinkett Smith admits to Will Smith she DID have an affair with rapper August Alsina as couple sit down for bombshell tell-all confessional. According to the superstar couple they “were going through a very difficult time” and had broken up when Pinkett Smith started a romantic relationship with the 27-year-old singer. During their “Red Table Talk” chat Smith pushed his wife to be clear about what her relationship had been with Alsina.
“I got into an entanglement with August,” Pinkett Smith said.
Smith described the split, saying: “We decided we were going to separate for a period of time and you go figure out how to make yourself happy and I will go figure out how to make myself happy.”
Pinkett Smith added: “From there, as time went on, I got into a different kind of entanglement with August.”
The 48-year-old actress also said she wanted “to clear up” reports that Smith, 51, had given her “permission” to stray. She added saying: “The only person who can give permission in that particular circumstance is myself. I could actually see how he would perceive it as permission because we were separated amicably and I think he also wanted to make it clear that he’s also not a homewrecker. Which he’s not.”
The Pinkett-Smiths are two of the biggest stars in the world. The couple married in December 1997 and are the parents of Jaden, 19 and Willow, 17. Will Smith also has a 25-year-old son, Trey, from a prior marriage.
