Singer Kamran Bari makes acting debut with Kahay Dil Jidhar
In 2008, Kamran Bari with his band Suroor, rose to fame with Suroor’s Bollywood hit and an award winning song ‘Pyar To Hona He Hae’. The song was featured in Rohit Shetty’s Bollywood flick “Sunday” starring Ajay Devgan, Ayesha Takia, Arshad Warsi and Irfan Khan. The 2008 hit, was followed by an album with 11 tracks and in 2011 Suroor fans got to hear ‘Sajna Ve’s rendered version in collaboration with UAE’s very own Wiam Dahmani.
During 2013 and 2014, we got to the see political affiliations and views of many musicians through their music. While many were out loud allaying with specific parties, Suroor’s rock qawali “Jamhoriyat” featuring Sana, Hira, Javeria Saud & Ayesha Omar was a musical everyday narration of a commons wishes to witness justice, punishment for the looters of the nation all the while hoping democracy prevails in its true sense.
Fast forward to 2020, 12 years latter Kamran Bari is making his debut as an actor in an upcoming Pakistani film ‘Kahay Dil Jidhar’. Starring along Side Kamran Bari are Junaid Khan (actor and lead vocalist Call), Mansha Pasha, Roma Michael and Dino Ali (RJ/Musician). The star cast also includes Atiqa Odho and Sajid Hasan.
This gives us an interesting fact about this film. Kahay Dil Jidhar will be the debut big screen project for prominent names of the music fraternity. While you get to see singer musician Kamran Bari, Junaid Khan and Singer/RJ Dino Ali on screen. This will be a film directorial debut for Jalaluddin as well, who has till now been recognized for directing music videos only.
Embarking on a journey to self-discovery with four university friends, in his upcoming film Kahay Dil Jidhar, Kamran Bari, plays character of musician/singer.
Kamran Bari’s character gets interesting as he plays a role of more than just an aspiring musician. “It’s more than a guy who wants to be recognized as a singer. My characters story is not just about an aspiring musician, parallel to his life as musician who is on his way to build himself a career of stardom, is a another side to character where he is simultaneously struggling with another very gruesome reality of life.”
Besides acting, Kahay Dil Jidhar is also written and produced by Kamran Bari. This film is also the first film under the banner of WIJDAAN films. The film has been shot completely is currently in post-production with an expected release on March 23, 2020.
