Deepika Padukone speaks against ban on Mahira Khan’s Verna
International famed holder Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone has reacted to the ban placed on Pakistani movie ‘Verna’ and said that it’s sad some people don’t understand the power of cinemas.
In an interview, Deepika said that people criticize the content without watching it and its very hurting for those who spent time on its production. She said that we can spread message of love in the country by using cinemas but it’s disappointing that small section of people chose to ban movies.
Exclusively talking to Dunya News, Mahira Khan hoped that censor board will soon clear the film as the concept is good and everything in the movie handled carefully. We have failed to understand what censor board has found objectionable in Verna, she added.
It is to be mentioned here that Deepika’s film Padmavati and Mahira Khan’s ‘Verna’ are likely to be banned in India and Pakistan apiece.
Verna is slated to be released on November 17 while Padmavati will be displayed on December 1.
