The idea success, for me has always been that first you find an inspiration, work your self up and when your inspiration starts to be inspired by you, move on to a newer and better inspiration. That mantra is what I believe will alleviate anybody to a better version of themselves. There are things which propel one towards success; for some it’s their skill and what they are good at and for others it’s just a “woman”. Something I learnt for a successful man was “take all this energy that you have in the form of rage, anger and frustration then direct in to your work and that will make you more motivated than a woman can ever dare”

I have yet to taste success, but I am told that an aim is the most important ingredient for success. We all do have aims but our aims change with time as it’s said about love by John Donne;
“I SCARCE believe my love to be so pure
As I had thought it was,
Because it doth endure
Vicissitude, and season, as the grass ;
Methinks I lied all winter, when I swore
My love was infinite, if spring make it more. “

In other words our aims are much similar to love they will change for better or for worse, they with age and experience become more realistic and practical Humaira, 26 says “as a child I wanted to be an astronaut as I grew up I found out that, that dream, here in Pakistan is not very realistic, now I am a pilot but I still get to fly.” A 29-year old says “Learning something new, taking a different approach, or engaging with someone with a different perspective from your own can cause noticeable changes in your everyday life. Even just watching a movie or reading a book can alter your outlook to some extent. I am an editor because I watched “ugly betty”.” At one point we think one thing and at that time we consider that decision to be our final verdict but as the seasons pass we improve, we improve because we are prone to change with the circumstances “You change for two reasons: Either you learn enough that you want to, or you’ve been hurt enough that you have to.”: We adopt Darwin’s theory of ‘survival of the fittest’.

Initially, all the options we were given as children were: doctor lawyer, engineer, pilot and teacher but now even our parents and our country has started accepting other professions as serious work. Now one can take up design as their profession or be a musician and even an event manager. Journalism is not looked down upon and artists are being recognized as intellectuals, few years ago they were called “Malangs” here in Pakistan. Ayan, 17, says “New fields are open to us today, that weren’t available to our older siblings and even our parents support our career choices, I want to apply to art schools and they are letting me” according to TIME rhe top reason for change in a career choice is due to Downsizing or restructuring . “We have too many MBAs these days but too less opportunities.” Keeping the issue of ‘opportunities’ aside we are in that age that we can find out what our skills are and can actually opt a career in that field, that makes change justifiable.
