After Veena Malik’s entry in a reality show last October, this time, another Pakistani artiste, singer Farhan Saeed will make his presence felt in India. Farhan is a band member of Jal and is the second person from the band to work in a Bollywood film. The singer is making his debut in the film Qasam se Qasam se (QSDS)
One-time band member, Atif Aslam has also sung for Bollywood films in the past, like Race’s Pehli Nazar Mein… and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’s Tu Jaane Na….
Ask director Ashfaque Makrani why he chose a Pakistani singer when there’s no dearth of talent in India and he says, “We needed a voice tinged with nostalgia, according to the film’s situation — a farewell party song recollecting the golden moments of college. Farhan’s voice perfectly suited this song Mithi Yaadein… very well. Once anyone hears it, they will like it for sure.”
Farhan was in the city two days ago to perform and act in the song, which also stars DJ Akbar Sami, who will remix the track for the film’s soundtrack.
Sami will also play himself in QSQS, which is a musical romantic thriller revolving around today’s college-goers.
In all, the film has 10 songs by singers like Mika, Mohit Chauhan, Shaan, Kunal Ganjawala, Monali Thakur, Neeraj Shridhar and Neha Bhasin.
Adds Ashfaque, “The film harks back to the golden age when good music was responsible for the success of a film. Since this film’s songs are a part of the narration, they are very good.”
