An International World XI captained by Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya and featuring several former South African and West Indian Test players will take on a Pakistan All Stars side led by Shahid Afridi in T20 cricket exhibition match today.
The cricket fans would see international players in action on the home ground nearly after three years, when the ice will break as Pakistan XI take on an International World XI in the opening Twenty20 exhibition cricket match at National Stadium under lights here on Saturday at 7.00 P.M.
For most of Pakistan players, it would be the first opportunity to play against the foreigners on the home ground. Shahid Afridi, who struggled with the bat in the recent past, will be star attraction for his big band of supporters in Pakistan XI, next to him is Shoaib Malik and the third former national team captain Yunus Khan is also included, who too has been a favorite of Karachi cricket buffs. Nasir Jamshed, who performed well in the in World T20, also expected to give a repeat performance.
For Umar Akmal, it will be the first opportunity to face the international players on home ground. Besides, Imran Nazir, Asad Shafique, Fawwad Alam, Khalid Latif, Muhammad Sami, Tanveer Ahmad and Wahab Riaz are also included in the Pakistan squad.
