‘Meher Ali’ Controversy
1. Meher Ali ?? Who OWNS it ?? and what was all the FUSS about ?
ans. PukaaR owns Mehar Ali. Raza Ali, the person who composed it, transfered its rights to PukaaR.
There were some confusions but now everything is clear to everyone as PukaaR has uploaded the rights on the internet.
2. There has been a little argument with Owner/Admin Murtaza Niaz (Murzie) of PMR?? What happened??
ans. That i would say was a misunderstanding. Actually Murzie bhai was given a telephone call by the legal advisor of Raza Ali, who told him that the rights are beeing transfered to PukaaR and this process will take a couple of days.
So, he advised him not to release the song until he receives a copy of the transfer deed, to avoid any unpleasesent situation. Murize bhai took it wrong and considered it to be a threat. Which was not a threat at all.
3. Since the issue of rights for the song has been resolved Whats the status of Pukaar and PMR`s relation??
ans. After all the misunderstandings and problems, everything ended up in friendship. PukaaR went to Murzie bhai and made everything clear to him.
Both the parties have no issues at all. PMR will be releasing PukaaR’s projects in future as well.
4. Some webzines have quoted that PMR`s admin Murzie has contacted you and apologized for the article on Meher Ali Controvesy?? HOW true is that ??
ans. Well, everyone has the right to say anything. Who ever has quoted this might have problems with Murzie bhai :p. PukaaR and PMR resolved their issue mutually and in a very professional way. Such statements being printed are totally baseless.
5. Do you think PMR was biased at any stage regarding Meher Ali Controversy ???
ans. They weren’t biased. They took things a bit wrong. But actually they were waiting for the rights of the song. PMR is certainly a non-political promotional website. They are not supporters, they are promoters. Who ever is the band, what ever are the issues.
6. Since you have been through the whole experience would you like to share it with upcoming artists?? tell them why its important to reserve the copyrights for your content and its importance ?
ans. Well, Copy Rights are as important as a Nikkah Nama 😀 lol. Get everything registered in time and in the presence of vitnesses so that no body claims it to be his property. Avoid the uncertainity and get your belongings registered on your name. So that nobody uses it without your permission.
7. Anything you want to say to PMR regarding the whole Meher Ali issue ??
ans. PMR was pretty concerened about Mehar Ali issue. As everybody was waiting for the final decsission. I would like PMR to spread the true information as PukaaR has proved its ownership to the media.
8. Anything you want to tell or share with your supports and fans out there regarding Meher Ali ??
ans. Mehar Ali is a superhit Kalaam and has become more famous because of the contraversy it faced a few days back. PukaaR is focused to provide you with the best and has a lot of good stuff for its fans.
9. Any other MSGS??
ans. Every thing you face unwantedly in life is God’s will. He tests your patience. Don’t panic and think wisely. The thing you feel is going against you turns to be in your favour in the end.
Couple of questions for Murzie bhai :
1. According to Pukaar the call you recieved was by legal advisor of Raza Ali and it wasn’t any sort of warning, since you there had been an article on whole issue, now whats your say ?
Ans. My stance is still the same, legal advisor of Pukaar or legal advisor of Raza Ali they are all the same to me. PMR is a free artist promotion website where all my PMR team members and I try our level best to promote our upcoming Pakistani Artists. All of us put a lot of time and effort into it free of cost and with honest intentions. So, when I received that call, honestly, I was a bit disappointed because I was directly intouch with both the bands Pukaar & Irtiqa and I made them clear that I wont be releasing any Meher Ali version until the issue has been sorted out between them and still when I received the call I honestly got offended as I felt they were trying to take control of the situation by putting some pressure.
2. Meeting with Pukaar ?? what happened there?
Ans. It was a very friendly meeting where they explained me the whole Meher Ali senario and also told me about Raza`s Legal Advisor thing and cleared it to me that the call was never intended to put any sort of pressure and they agreed with me that it shouldn`t have happened this way. At the end it was a fun meeting where we discussed music scene in general and future plans of Pukaar with zabardast cup of CHAI.
3. Webzines trying to exploit the situation and prove their intellects ? whats your say?
Ans. Yaar music promote karo 😛 Without proper information don’t publish anything just to exploit the situations and get a little attention – need to grow up!
PMR is open platform for all artists, we have no issues with any artist or webzine who are promoting Pakistani Music. I would like to invite all artists and webzines to come forward and together lets try do something big for Pakistani Music & Pakistan and contribute to it instead of trying taking lead on eachother by pointing out wrongs and creating controversies.
