Push them around the corner, and yet the Pakistani’s will deliver such a massive punch which can make even the most industrious bystander envious. It’s incredible, if not impossible; amid all the turmoil Pakistan produced a couple of gems, worth being proud of, in the last few years. Shoiab Mansoor’s “Khuda Kay Liyay” enchanted the viewer’s in Pakistan and beyond, while “Bol” unearthed ground realities. Both provided the much needed impetus to the Local film market, and “Chambaili” promises to follow suit.
Chambaili, a Drama/Thriller releasing on 23rd March next year, revolves around a group of individuals and follows them as the events in their lives take a fascinating turn. With a star studded cast boasting the likes of Salman Peerzada, Myra khan and Shafqat Cheema along with a special guest appearance to top it off from Ghulam Mohiuddin, Chambaili is already sending a few vibes down the stagnated film industry. Directed by Ismail Jilani, it is produced by Coup films in association with Geo production network, which is already apt at providing quality films to the mainstream society. The remarkably gifted Shahzad Nawaz is the man behind the script, besides being the co-producer with Abdullah Kadwani. With his previous experience providing the perfect base, Shahzad Nawaz blends raw talent with calculated articulation of ideas into breathtaking reality. The first taste of what is to come was given by the Promo of the film 23rd March, 2013. It gives a spicy blend of contemporary issues enriched in creative and powerful visualization which seems a great prelude before the final release. The film seems to have covered all the prerequisites to be a great venture, and with the starving market, promises to deliver the much needed boost.
PMR has high hopes for the venture, not just because of the quality of the cast and the production/technical team, but also due to the fact that this film marks another milestone in the industry, which is increasingly becoming a quality independent film market.
