The Prince of Pop, Ali Zafar performed for children with cancer at ‘Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre’ today.
He recently said on his twitter account that:
“Off to shaukat khanum to sing for kids with cancer. I wish cancers of our culture could be cured by singing only.”
This is not the first time that he has helped anyone, previously he helped a young bride whose dowry was burnt in Shah Faisal Colony, Lahore. He told this in an interview with Express Tribune. In the same interview Ali went on to say that “If well-off people helped the poor then our society would improve. I believe that those who have the capability should do what they can to help out.” “Although I have not started a charitable organization, I am more than willing to use my resources to help out and I am even willing to do a charity show to raise money for a worthwhile cause.”
He also in his tweets recalls collecting donations for ‘Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre’ when he was studying in school.
“I remember when imran khan was collecting funds for the hospital. It was announced in our school that whoever sells tickets worth 6000 will get to have dinner with imran khan. I sold for that much. Went to dinner and found out 500 other kids did the same.”
He also praised the facilities of the Hospital in his tweets saying:
“Shaukat khanum is an examplary hospital\organization. Others should borrow off it and adapt. So clean! Peaceful. If imran khan can build”
On the other hand, Ayesha Fazli, Ali’s wife felt like adopting the cancer patient kids and hoped that these adorable little kids are cancer free soon. She said:
“They are adorable! i feel like adopting them ali! Its so sad…i hope they are cancer free soon.”
